Yo-Yo Launches Café Mocha’s Search for the Fiercest Female DJ

Listen to this article

Crowned the #1 nationally syndicated radio show for women of color, Café Mocha is calling all female DJs to join the ‘Mocha Mix’ movement hosted by hip hop legend and co-host Yo-Yo.

The highly covenant final 10 minutes of the two-hour weekend show has become a ‘staple’ for listeners over the years; thanks to mixes from MC Lyte and DJ ID who brought the best blend of Old School & R&B. Now, they are looking for the next ‘fierce’ female DJ to kick off the weekend party celebrating Café Mocha’s 10th anniversary.

No, this is not for the Announcer, Jock or On-Air Personality…we want a REAL LIVE DJ that has the skills to turn it up! The winner’s mixes will be showcased across Café Mocha affiliates in over 35 markets and SiriusXM Channel 141.

To enter, prospective contestants must visit Café Mocha Radio website to submit a five minute audition video link for consideration. The top 10 finalists will be featured on Café Mocha’s Instagram and the top 2 finalists will go head to head on Instagram Live hosted by Yo-Yo. The DJ with the highest public votes will be featured for three months, receive cash prize, and declared the winner serving up their own ‘dose of the Mocha Mix’.
